H. ERIC BURNETTE

H. Eric Burnette is a partner in the firm who practices in the area of civil litigation and is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Mediator. Eric has successfully tried jury trials in both State and Federal courts. Eric has been named to the top 40 trial lawyers under 40 and holds the highest ethical rating issued by Martindale's Peer Review system. His practice areas include insurance bad faith, estate litigation, personal injury and employment law (including unemployment appeals). He is admitted to practice in all courts in Tennessee, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and he has experience handling Multi District Litigation. Eric's is the former President of the Chattanooga Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, where he was active in numerous community service and leadership projects. He was the CBA YLD 2013 Lawyer of the Year award recipient and has received the honor of Top 40 Attorneys under 40 in Tennessee.

Eric remains active in the Chattanooga Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Federal Bar Accociation and the National Employment Lawyers Association. 
Eric received his juris doctorate in 2005 from Appalachian School of Law where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. During law school he gained valuable experience clerking for the then Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Eric is a native of Chattanooga. He is a graduate of both the Baylor School and the University of Tennessee of at Chattanooga. He has remained actively involved at Baylor, including serving as an Alumni Board member, a member of the Heritage Society and as the varsity pole vault coach. Eric's service also extends into the community where he serves as a lieutenant in the Lookout Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.

Eric and his wife Sudie have four children and attend the The Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain. He and his family enjoy a myriad of outdoor activities, spending time on the lake, and volunteering at church.
